TTi PL303QMT Bench/System Linear Regulated DC Power Supply
The New PL series bench power supplies combine classic analogue controls with advanced digital features for enhanced stability and precision. It offers ultra-low noise linear regulation, high power density, and versatile voltage control with the innovative S-Lock and V-Span functions. The compact design ensures minimal bench space usage, and advanced safety features, including safety binding-post terminals and fan-assisted cooling, provide reliable and quiet operation. The series includes single, dual, and triple output models, making it ideal for a wide range of laboratory applications.
The New PL series offers ultra-low noise linear regulation, providing the lowest output noise and the best transient response. This ensures exceptional performance, with an rms noise figure of just 0.4mV and tightly specified pk-pk noise and common-mode current figures. The series also features an ultra-compact design, achieving up to 90 watts from a quarter-rack 3U-sized casing, making it perfect for crowded benches and rack-mount applications where space is at a premium. For rack-mounting, up to four units can be installed into a single slot.
One of the standout features of the New PL series is the S-Lock function. The Lock button transfers voltage and current settings control from the analogue controls to internal digital circuitry by pressing the Lock button. This ensures complete security and exceptional stability, with each setting controlled by an instrumentation-quality DAC. This feature prevents accidental changes to settings, offering peace of mind and safety in critical applications.
Engineers often need a power supply with a specific voltage range to prevent damage or reset circuits. The V-Span function addresses this need by allowing users to redefine the end-stop values of the voltage control. This enables high-resolution analogue control over a custom voltage range, making it easier to work with specific equipment. For example, an engineer working with a circuit operating from four NiMh cells can set a Vmax of 5.8 volts and a Vmin of 3.6 volts, ensuring precise control within safe limits.
The New PL series also boasts high-accuracy four-digit meters with fixed resolution, providing consistent and easy-to-read measurements. The series includes a low current range with 0.1mA meter resolution and meter averaging to reduce jitter from rapidly varying load currents. Each main output has a DC on-off switch, allowing voltage and current settings to be viewed before connecting the load. This feature, combined with the ability to switch between local and remote voltage sensing, enhances usability and safety.
Safety is a top priority in the New PL series, which is equipped with safety binding-post terminals that can accept fixed-shroud 4mm plugs, bare wires, and fork connectors. The series also incorporates an advanced phase-controlled preregulator, improving energy efficiency and reducing heat generation, especially at lower voltages. Most models use fan-assisted convection cooling, ensuring minimal fan noise and maintaining a quiet workspace.
The New PL series includes dual and triple output models, such as the PL303QMD, which offers four modes of operation: Independent, Isolated Tracking, Isolated Ratio Tracking, and True Parallel. These modes provide versatility for different applications, allowing users to create two rails of either polarity, reference them to different grounds, or combine outputs for higher current.
With its blend of classic analog controls and cutting-edge digital features, the New PL series delivers unmatched performance, precision, and usability. It remains the laboratory power supply of choice for engineers and technicians who demand reliable, high-quality equipment that can meet the diverse needs of modern electronic design and testing.
